Instamat radiators are available in central heating, electric and mix version.
A radiator does not emit more heat when you put an electric element in it with a higher power rating. The size and shape of the radiator determine the heat output. Instamat electric radiators are equipped as standard with an electric element with an appropriate capacity.
Instamat has documents related to maintenance, programming and installation. See more on our download page.
A mix-type radiator is connected to the central heating system and also has an electric element. The radiator turns when the central heating system circulates the water and can also be activated independently by the electric element. In connection with the expansion of heat in a radiator, the return of the radiator should always be open with a mix version. Instamat radiators that are suitable for use as a mix model are marked with the symbol.
The output of an Instamat radiator in CV version is measured in accordance with standard EN442 and is determined by the temperature control. An electric element converts power into heat by heating the fluid in the radiator to a certain temperature.
The difference is in thermal conductivity and processing capabilities. Aluminum reacts faster than steel. An aluminum radiator heats up faster, but also cools down faster. While a steel radiator heats up slightly less quickly, but also cools down less quickly. Instamat has radiators in both steel and aluminum.

Our experience has taught us that when a radiator makes “noise,” the problem is not actually with the radiator itself. One of the most common causes is that the radiator has not been bled properly or completely. Another cause is that the pressure across the pipe sections to the different radiators can vary significantly. The cause is that the radiator valves are not properly adjusted. The result is that a radiator starts to act as a “sound box” and it seems as if the sound is coming from there. It is very important that each heating element, regardless of its location relative to the heat source, has a pressure differential approximately equal to that of every other heating element in the system. If the adjustment valves are set properly, this will help you control the different volume flows in the system. Ticking noises in the radiators are thus prevented.
A radiator is operated by the hot water of the central heating system. Check the water pressure. Insufficient water pressure can prevent the radiator from getting hot water. Without hot water, the radiator will not heat up. If there is air in the radiator and pipes then the circulation of the water is blocked. Make sure the radiator is properly vented.
Watch our step-by-step instructional videos on how to set the different programs on your electric radiator thermostat. It is wise to also download and thoroughly go through the comprehensive manual. Our instructional videos serve as a supplement to the manual and provide visual guidance to make the setup process easier. Whether you are new to using the thermostat or just need some extra guidance, our instructional videos are designed to help you use the thermostat to its fullest potential and enjoy the settings comfortably.
Check/replace the batteries. Re-pair the remote control with the thermostat as described in the manual.
Proper maintenance is important! Regular venting of radiators and a properly regulated central heating system ensure a pleasant climate and efficient energy consumption. Therefore, have your installation checked regularly by a skilled and certified installer. Clean preferably only with a slightly damp cloth. See also our ‘general installation and maintenance instructions‘.
Assembly and installation shall comply with (local) legal requirements and the standards that may be expected of a professional. An Instamat radiator must be installed in accordance with the installation instructions.
